Breaking costs.

A neighbour wants two cobs broken, I'm not sure how much to charge...any ideas?

They're pretty wild, just about halter broken.

i paid £60 a week for my horse to be broken, he was not wild and id done alot of work with him so he was away for 5 weeks and walks, trots, canters, jumps and hacks out alone

Would it include full livery? If not, charge by the hour....

If I send one away on full livery to be broken I would expect to pay a minimum of £140/week. Agree with KatB if you are not providing the livery then charge per hour.

Judy charges £85 per week (Ithink) all in. Work out what would suit you and ask that - don't get killed for a loss or break even!! LOL!!

My 3 years old has just come back from 2 weeks of handling training. I was charges £160 per week and he recons that to back / start her she would have needed to be there 6 weeks. This included all feed bedding etct etc.

We do the odd few and charge £140 a week all in! It is surprising how much time it takes up espesially as backing requires 2 of you!

I paid £100 p/w for William a couple of years ago in Devon. Shoeing and wormer on top. He was there for 7 or 8 weeks. Would expect to pay more round this way.
