right were going to start breaking a welsh pony in he is around 7year old and is already broken to drive so is used to having the bit in and things on his back, he has been lunged and long reined...sounds like an amateur question but ive broken 3 ponies and schooled many naughty / problem ponies but what would you do next with this pony as ive only ever done things my way and from scratch and other people on my yard are saying to do different things, personally i would start leaning and sitting on it as although its carried wieght not a person and then i would go from there

so really just wondering what order and how you would break ponies in as some people would do it different to me and im sure theres some more experienced people on here :)

I take It said pony has had saddle on etc ??
If not this would be the next step to go and introduce saddle , have stirrups down and longrein and lunge in it for the pony to get use to the feeling of it , and get use to stirrups flapping around etc , the next step would be is to introduce a rider , leaning over , then progressing to get on and sitting up , make sure all
Introducements are done slowly , and if pony is unsure don't pressurise do it at the rate the pony is confortable with
Good luck
