We'd like the little man to have some education. Most of all we'd like him broken to harness so we could all enjoy him

How long does it take to break an avaerage pony to harness? and how much p/w could I expect to pay?
I don't have the facilities or experience to do this myself.

Is this your shetland you're thinking of breaking into harness? I would do it yourself if it is. I broke my first pony into harness 2 years ago when i was 18. I had never driven before although a friend did show me how to harness and put to. I've now broken 3 ponies into harness and I've just sold my young driving pony.
I could guide you through it with you want, just PM me!

If you take him to a pro yard they will charge around £100 per week. It could take 2 weeks or 8 weeks. My first pony took 6 weeks, next pony took 3 days and 3rd pony took 3 weeks, so very much depends. But i think you'll be looking at around 4 weeks at a pro yard.
