I've a horse that gets so excited traveling and always arrives at shows dripping wet, however much you try to keep him the right temperature. I was wondering if anybody has had experiences using 'remedies' to help this. I have heard of people who use Rescue Remedy - does anyone have any ideas!!!!

my mare used to do this but she wasnt excited about going out - pain in the arse lo.
we sorted her issues out and then had extra vents put in our trailer rough so could sweat up
have you thought about a calmer like the magic one? think its just a one off shot. i use coligone to help my mare to destress

Another vote for an instant calmer, some of them wont always work for your ned so you may have to have a shop around to see which one does.

Go armed with Waffle-type wicking rug to get rid of the sweat incase it doesnt

some will always sweat when travelling, as long as they travel quietly enough do not worry. make sure they have adequate ventilation and dont rug them, give electro lites eve before and on return of journey. leave enough time on arrival at venue to wash and walk off! enjoy and keep going, they sometimes grow out of this!

we used to use Tempralax from NAF for a cob gelding we had - he would load fine and stand like a rock - but would be soaked when we got to the show - used Tempralax and he was fine - we did discover though that we had to top him back up to come home
