I have a 7 year old mare that’s been living out for a few months. I’ve had her for nearly 2 years but not really moved forward with her schooling. Can anyone recommend any trainers (ideally North West based) but willing to send her further away for a good and honest trainer.

I did send her away to a local trainer last year but without naming or going into further details it was awful. I was not allowed to visit without prior notice and when I did she was just in a stable and did not seem happy. I think the trainer was constantly at competitions with her own horses and hardly putting any time into training mine. She was sent there for 6 weeks and when she came back there was no change. It took a few weeks for the horse to bond with me again. It is therefore important to me that she is sent to a good place where she can also get regular turnout with other horses (she was not getting this with the previous trainer either).

Does anyone recommend a particular trainer? My mare can be sensitive so it’s got to be someone understanding who takes things slowly with her.

There are a couple of names I’ve found on the internet including Guy Robertson Horsemanship, Wayne Bushnell Horsemanship and Adam Yates Horsemanship so would be great to hear first hand reviews if anyone has any?

I’d recommend Joe Midgley. He’s taking horses in training. But Lincoln based. Ideal foundation for any later work in any discipline. Gentle, clear, professional and great results.

I did contact him but got no reply. He was recommended to me by someone with a good name.shame really as the good ones seem impossible to get a repossession from.
