Breaking stable boredom

I have an exracer gelding (14yrs) who is stabled for around 16 hours a day (yard rules unfortunately)

He's really coming out his shell and had become very mouthy and inquisitive! And has developed a love of mouthing his leadrope like its a dummy. Would love to know if anyone knows of a stable toy that he could replicate this behaviour on but aren't a choking hazard?

(his mouth etc have been checked. He just finds it soothing)

At the moment he has a mirror, a treat ball, a salt lick, both hay and haylage and I try to give him various natural herbal forage options

I suggest you read up on stereotypic behaviours and consider whether he “loves” mouthing his lead role or is demonstrating his frustration at being stabled 16 hours a day.

Is there an opportunity to find another stable in which your gelding will not stand for 16 hours in a stall alone without a sensible walk?

tbh it doesn't matter how many toys and things you give them to occupy themselves, they shouldn't be stabled for that long. i'd find a new yard if possible
