Hi I'm new here :-)

Just wanted to seek some of your thoughts/ advise on my young lad.
I've just had him broken in late on this year and now just gentle away hacking with (touch wood) no problems so far. I'm interested in breaking him for driving later on though when he's grown and matured abit more, also to give me time to save up more funds. But what are your views on breaking to drive later on in his life/education. He will be 4 in may and to say he was totally wild 5 months ago he's come on in leaps and bounds

I've driven most of my ponies and I always like to break them to ride and hack them out first until I know they are 100% on the roads before I put them in harness. If the pony has the right temperament then it shouldn't matter if he's 5 or 15 when you start to drive him.

Brilliant :-) I've never broken a horse to drive before and been told I should have had him broken to drive at the same time as breaking him to ride. But he's about 15:2hh atm and should make around 16.hh when fully grown so I don't want to go putting too much work and pressure on him
