Gorgeous George
Well-Known Member
With the help of people on here and someone at my yard (you know who you are!) I have had something of a breakthrough with George and his bit / leaning issues. I was kindly leant a KK bit to try and was given an impromtu lesson and before I knew it I was riding George forwards instead of holding him back and he went really well and actually started using his backend
we even cantered with no stress or drama - I was so thrilled that I was beaming from ear to ear, and we managed to repeat the perfomance tonight
My instructor always tells me to ride forwards and I do ok in my lessons, but in the intervening 2 weeks I go back to bad habits, but I think my awful dressage on sat made me realise I really needed to get a grip
Ok I know we will still have problems but this feels like a big step in the right direction. The gag is now strictly for hacking & jumping.
