Hi, Can anyone reccomend/help with a breastplate martingale that would be suitable for a chunky big chested 14.2 Welsh Sec D? i have been and bought a FULL size Mark Todd with an elasticated chest that was like a small dog collar on her ( then the girth loop was rather long as u can imagine as she is short but stocky..)

so was wondering if u have used anything suitable for a chunky type without getting huge sizes as then they are ill fitting in the other areas! my last was fully adjustable but that has broke and was off a friend so dont no the make. im after a full leather one........ thanks!:)

Sorry, not hugely helpful but I needed a breastplate for my tank-type horse and after looking at all the branded ones and not being convinced the fit would be right, I went to a local tack shop and they had an X-Full one they had made in store that was a good fit, and they adjusted the girth loop to make it shorter so it wasn't hanging around his knees. Fits perfectly, is really high quality and I think it cost me £50. Might be an idea to try a local tack shop, or if you find one that fits around her chest/neck (an x-full might be the best size!), see if a local saddler can shorten the girth loop.

Amigo do nice elasticated ones, my fell is built like the proverbial brick outhouse and only has a pony one which is nice and roomy as well as being very easy on the pocket compared to some of the others! :)

I got an extra full one of eBay for my big lad, my friends full one was like a choker on him... It's leather, was new, and didn't cost me the earth.
