I need one for hacking just to stop saddle slipping back, doesn't need a martingale attachment, but I've never had to use one so I'm at a loss with all this choice! Is there an obvious advantage/disadvantage of using a plain strap across the shoulder type to the eventing/hunting ones? Horse is a 15.1hh cob x arab x warmblood - quite narrow and short, (I used to tie a knot in his Cob size running martingale for it to fit properly) if this has any influence to the choice people would make? Would prefer no fluff purely to ease of cleaning after!

Mine is an ordinary hunting breastplate all leather no elastic or sheepskin. There is a strap to the girth between the legs and two to the D rings on the saddle. It does the job fine and is very adjustable. If it was too big all you would need is a hole punch to put in some extra holes. Mine is made by Jeffries and the quality is excellent.
