Brecon Sales 15/06/25

I feel quite sorry for lot 62, I’ve seen her advertised on Facebook a few times over the past few weeks and her price kept coming down, I guess no one wanted her so now she’s going to the auction. I hope she gets a nice home.

I don’t know much about conformation but I can see there’s something going on with her withers. Can anyone tell me what would cause that? (I have posted a link on here before so hopefully this works!)

So many nice sounding horses up... Lot 99 sounds ideal if I was still riding. As it is, I have people giving me their broken and discarded ones, so I am banned from auctions because my OH knows I'd be bringing back more of the unwanted just to be safe, loved and spoilt field ornaments. That aged mare would definitely be coming home with me

Muscle atrophy around the withers/lack of topline. Her neck looks a bit upside down as well. She's lovely though.

My daughter and I often look at the catalogue and there's some lovely horses available this month. if we had a trailer and she wasn't working tomorrow I actually think we'd take a road trip down there. Lot 10a looks a lovely mare, as does Lot 77 skippy!

can someone post the link tomoro please when the action starts can never find it thanks
Wil do!

Yep there are some gorgeous looking horses there this month, was the same last month too. We only live 45 mins away but thankfully no room for more! If I was looking I’d definitely go down though, I know a few people who have sent horses there the last few months. It’s not the bargain bin ends it once was!

Does anyone know how it works with vettings afterwards?

I’ve paid a deposit to register for online bidding and have my eyes on 2. I’ve seen it says you have 48 hours to return, assuming that makes you take home and then have a vetting within 48 hours to be able to return?

Yes, presuming the horse is being sold with warranty, you'd really need to vet on the Sunday. (They do it deliberately because it means there's a lower likelihood of horses getting returned.)

The18 yr old palomino section c mare I was worried about sold for 880 so should be OK but the auctioneer put the hammer down while there were still online bids coming in so that looks a bit dodgy.
