Brecon Sales 15/06/25

Last time they had a page with the sold prices but I can’t see it this time. Was out all day so missed it!

Back in the 70's we went to a welsh sale, one of the smaller ones, might have been at Rhayader. I was horrified as it was full of ponies off the mountains. looked unhandled and were chased round the ring with sticks. One lovely pony who was properly handled and immaculate was turned loose in the ring and got the same treatment. Seeing those ponies cracked across their heads I just wondered how many ever trusted people again. Thank goodness for decent sales. Back then you could pick up welsh foals for a few pounds.

She did look well made and wasn't bargy in the ring , lovely youngster
Glad 157 sold for a decent price. Her grandsire Capitall Luke was bred by friends of mine. Nice horse TB x appaloosa.
My senior horse's sire was Capitall Luke.(His dam was an Arab). He has been a wonderful friend and partner in many adventures so I'm always interested in similar/related breeding.

Jamilla, the 18yo sec C, has been entered into this week's sales at Worcester, presumably by the person who bought her at Brecon (definitely not the original owner). Poor f*cking horse.
Oh no that’s awful but not surprising!!

Some nice breeding there, someone is going to be lucky! Got my eye on the Thistledown ponies!

I am not going, and definitely not looking for a horse, but I somehow seem to now be following their page on facebook! This girl caught my eye - what beautiful colouring!

She'll likely end up with a traveller I think. I wish I hadn't looked, there's a Mini shetland mare probably in foal and another with a filly foal at foot. I'd love a mini shetland foal!

Love the colour on 116 but there's something a bit odd about his backend. Might just be his shot up again behind? He looks a bit like a QH.
