Currently on the search for another pair of breeches and would appreciate some recommendations.

Criteria:
High waisted, with belt loops
Preferably full seat but would consider knee patch
Full seat = stretchy, not limiting at the knee
No bling or things like studs on the back pockets
Patterns like pinstripe, plaid or check are good
Decent denim ones considered
Super comfy and well made!
Ideally under £50 but could stretch to £70 for something that is very highly recommended .

I currently ride in the Ariat Olympia ones, but I can't find any in my size in a colour that I don't have within my budget, so looking at branching out.

I've seen some well priced HKM ones but not sure what the fit is like - any ideas?

Also liking the Mark Todd plaid ones but wanted to get some recommendations first.

Others I've seen in the sale:

Cavellos - seem to be heavily reduced. Are they worth the full price in the first place or are they having to be reduced because they're overpriced normally?

Pikeur - seen some under £70 and generally people rave about their Pikeurs, but I have never tried them so am not sure what is so magical about them or how they fit. If they're miles better in terms of fit and performance than the others listed, I may splash out and try them, but it would be good to hear what it is that makes them so much better!

Not asking for much, am I?

Thanks in advance :)

Have a look on Hope Valley website in the sale section. I got a lovely pair of tredstep full seat breeches for less than £70 instead on £150. Lots to choose from :)

I've found tredstep & HV Polo to be very good. Haven't tried pikeur ones as I think they would refuse to let my big bum in them :biggrin3:

I recently got a pair of Dublin supafit breeches, which tick all of your boxes bar high waisted - they aren't 'hipster' style, but they aren't truly high waisted say like Cavallo breeches would be.

I can't remember exactly how much they were, but they would most likely be under £50, as I can't justify expensive breeches :D

I love my Caledene and Equetech high waisted breeches. The Equetech in particular are lovely, and the full seat in them isn't restrictive, so long as you pull them up enough when you first put them on in the morning!

I've got the Mark Todd plaid ones and they are my favourites (After the Mark Todd Coolmax) for every day. Comfy and look nice. I find the sizing pretty good too. I'm a size 12 in normal clothes so I get the 30 (size 12 in the Mark Todd's) and I find they fit perfectly. I would be careful with the Mark Todd Gisbourne range though, they seem to come up tiny around the waist (even the lady in the shop commented on this when she was trying to sell me some).

I do love my Pikeur breeches but mine weren't a bargain pair. I do have two pairs of Rugged breeches which would fit your search criteria, very comfortable and high waisted and full seat I think they were £70.00. I had a cream pair before I bought my Pikeur comp breeches and got sad that I was wearing those instead of my Ruggeds so I bought a Navy everyday pair. They have Lycra/elastic ankles so no Velcro which I think is brilliant.

For full seat, high waisted, hard wearing (after two years and weekly washing so stitching coming undone) I love my pikeur lugunas, I think I paid £80/90 but so worth it. I've since bought another pair & so impressed.

Pikeur always, so so comfortable and last well. I get them on eBay second hand as people often sell them on there if they buy the wrong size; I can often get them for about £40 a pair. Even if they've been worn a bit I still think they're worth buying for hacking and wearing around the yard. I find that they are sized quite generously so if you haven't tried them before, try them on in a shop then get yourself on eBay!!

I've got Dublin ones and really like them, they do full seat, knee patch, high waist etc i find them really comfy. Kept me dry when raining as well.
