Any reccomendations??!!

breeches all the way!! easier to fit under boots, look better with flip flops LOL!! need I say more???

I prefer breeches as I find they are tidier around the ankle. I like my Pikeur ones but I can't remember the name of them! They are like the Princess but have a full seat. They wash really well and are very comfy.

breeches for me too, cant fit chunky jods under my long boots....

I love the Joules ones, very flattering, cool in summer and warm in winter and come up like new even with the amount of abuse I give them....

hey thats brilliant! Thanks everyone! Ive always been into joddies since i was a kid and never changed, so am a breeches virgin!

Thats great, I love the fact they look good with flip flops!! Whos told you i LIVE in flip flops!!??!!

that will be my trip to the saddlery shop sorted for tommrow lunchtime then!!

Thanks all!! xx

Breeches vote here too. Same fitting just different around the ankles. Agree with the flip-flops comments!!

If they have a leather or suedey type seat that doesn't stretch then it's best to go up a size I find.

Happy hunting!

I'm sure you will be a convert, breeches are just so much nicer.

same size as johds and I agree with jojobah if you have the sticky bum, or full seats you might need to go up a size. Flip flops are what I'm living in at the moment - have to keep reminding myself to change though whilst bringing in the nutters - don't fancy squashed tootsies from a 16.2 and a 17+ elephant!!
Are you off to west essex? be very careful as they have some very, very nice expensive ones in there. Went in for a cheap pair for competing and came out with a pair of cavallo full suede seat breeches over £100!! If not Joules do some really nice ones, i have 2 pairs of each of last years colours that I got in the sale online and they are great!!

yup, west essex! Went there this lunchtime... and will be heading there tomorrow too!! (makes going to work worthwhile!!)

Just had a nosey on some sites and they appear to be more expensive then Joddies? There is NO WAY i can afford £100.... I have a very expensive competing month ahead!!

I did the same at Royal Windsor... it was SO flaming hot that after we did the display (in full dress!) i quickly changed into a skirt, vest top and flip flops! Walking Gem back to the wagon from the stabling area made quite a few people look at my bare toes, but i was so unbelevably hot there was no way i was shoving my toes back into boots!!!

Yes I think they are a bit more pricey. I think they are usually a bit better quality though tbh. Better fabrics really, a little bit heavier weight. Although that could be a huge generalisation. I know my friend at the yard get's through more jods than I do breeches and I ride every day, whereas she is a sunday morning rider. Breeches seem to stand up to stable work better for some reason too.

totally agree jojobah, they seem to last forever!

Equestrian clearance have the following Mark Todd Breeches Kaikoura Pleated Breeches - Ladies for £37.99 and some others on Frogpool for £34.19, they are good 4dobbin have joules for £40.50 and the joules website have them at £45, not sure how much you pay for johds nowadays but anything will be expensive with a leather seat?

p.s West essex is a tad bit overpriced on certain things so I tend to check the web x

Thank you so much hun! I have just been on the dredded ebay and MAY have bid on a few!!

Im off to have my Vicky lesson now..... cant wait, hope Gem behaves! Weve been practicing everything since last time and shes been going like a dressage pony!! Bet she pretends to not know what contact is tonight!! xx

good luck, hope she doesn't work you both too hard!! I'm off to the pub as it's my hubby's birthday so no riding for me tonight, just lots of wine and food!!
