Why is it so difficult to find breeches with pockets large enough to hold the average size smart phone? I stopped by Decathlon the other day, because I'd bought some phone-friendly ones there last year and thought I'd get the same ones . But they've changed their design and made useless pockets (typical Decathlon -- when they have a really good thing going, they change it so it's less good). The ones at the local tack shops are no better.

Are there any to be found online that people like? Where are they?

The noble outfitters riding tights have a phone pocket on the thigh if you fancied that.

My caldene morpham breeches have a fairly decent pocket, my Samsung fits in it for yard work, though not sure I'd want to carry it there when riding...

Definitely recommend the Noble Outfitters one. Big phone pocket on the thigh of the Balance Riding Tights that easily holds my large Sony smart phone. Added bonus they are super comfortable, flattering and hard wearing too. I have 5 pairs now and literally don't wear anything else.

I just got some Horze Burgundy full seat breeches for £10 from Two Times Tack Shop and the pockets are great, easily fit my smart phone in. They're really comfortable and as light as my Noble Outfitters riding tights. I wish they weren't burgundy but full price would be nearer £70 so I'll take the colour they can't sell and think about experimenting with clothes dye.

I love the phone pocket on my NO Riding Tights but there's only a teeny tiny little pocket for change when I want to go get a drink from the machine / coffee shop. Again, if you don't care about colour, I found these half price in brown.

I'm tempted by a pair of these - how did they come up size wise?

ETA - ignore me, they're not in stock in the two sizes I'm between anyway :-(

For anyone else interested, I'm between 14 and 16, ordered the 44 and they fit very comfortably, I could have gone a size down and been a bit tight.

I bought a pair of riding tights with a big pocket on thigh for phone from Decathlonlast week. They are fab. £49.99.

One word (well two): BUM BAG!

99p off eBay and i can carry other useful stuff too. The small ones can be tucked under a top so you don't know its there and no chance of losing phone on flat out gallop!

Yep, fully agree with this. My friend has one of those tiny expandable bum bags that look like a belt when empty but expand to consume smart phones safely. I've got a more standard bum bag for hacking with a few essentials.
