My final pair of holy grail every day breeches have finally given up the ghost and seem to have been discontinued, but I can’t seem to find a replacement I like that’s under £100!

What breeches do you guys wear for day to day riding?

I like a full seat grip and loathe the fashionable riding tights. Must have zip and belt loops!

I used to love Cavallo Chagall high waisted breeches. I got mine off e bay brand new , if you know what brand and size you want it might be worth having a look on there

I love Cavallo too, I have cavagrip light ones for competitions and a pair of dark ones for everyday - possibly sold as tights but have a zip. I like seat grip which isn't too sticky or shiny.

eBay or sales for reasonable prices.

My go-to are the Horzehoods jeggings (horrendous name; lovely product), although they only have a partial gel seat, not full. No good for competitions, obviously, but so comfortable that I basically live in them. I even wore them for a 36-hour flight and didn't regret it.

I've a pair of Decathlon Jodhpurs that are nice. They are a reasonably thick material. I've also got 2 pairs of Harry Hall softshell breeches that are good for winter. They've got grippy knees, zips and belt loops.

Ariat usually have some with belt loops you can usually find them on eBay l bought some new a few years ago think they came from USA stock but were good quality ie thickish ‘proper’ original type.

Price per wear😉 - if you wear them all the time, they are very comfortable and wash well (no fabric conditioner). I’ve paid £60/70 for riding tights and not liked riding in them so therefore a waste of money.

I pay under twenty pounds old fashioned cotton/lycra. I'm sure those wouldn't last me 5 times as long.

And me!

How short is short?

They are expensive though but look nice, not that I need any more breeches now, but maybe in the future...😁

I’m about 5’1” (give or take half an inch) and my legs are quite short for my height and the breeches cover my ankles but without the excess gathering of material that occurs with regular length breeches and subsequent boot problems🙂

Perfect, thank you. They sound like they might be good for me - 4'11".

Just received my LuxeEquine riding tights. Brilliant price, great quality and size is based on Marks & Spencer sizes.

Got mine when there was a special on so they were just £24.99 but even at full price they are great. At least half of our yard are wearing them.

The only negative is that some said the feel the seat isn't quite the sticky bum level (they don't claim to be) but some would like them gripper to the saddle.

ETA: some colours of the microfleece are still £24.99

Was going to ask something similar but I'd love to know where to get affordable baselayers (Just the basic navy, blacks or greys really) and coats/jackets please! Sorry for hijacking ya post

I saw just a lead rope for sale that was £60 the other day 😳

I'd say avoid horsey brands and look at discount outdoor sports places. Sportpursuit and sportsshoes (both . com) often have 50% or more off in their sales. Horsey brands are, to me, ridiculously over priced!
