I am thinking about added another dog to my little family. I already have 2 JRT one bitch and one boy (boy been nuetered, girl hasnt YET) and I am looking to get a third. I don't want another Jack Rat as my boy is extremely cheeky and I dont think 2 extremely cheeky JRTs would go down well. The bitch on the other hand is extremely laid back.
I am looking for a small breed of dog, good with other dogs, enjoys being outside (stables) and an all round sociable dog.

if anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated!

Thanks

What about a Lancashire Heeler, they are great little dogs, can turn a paw to anything, agility, ratting, herding, blood tracking etc and get on well with horses if trained properly. Im on my third and they compliment my Dobes, they are very intelligent and healthy as long as you buy from health tested parents. The puppies available on the above site all have to satisfy the sites criteria health testing etc . They are very socialablewith dogs and people but are good house dogs and will alert you if anyone is about. One of the breeds trait is their smile which is very endearing.

What about a Standard Daschund? I have a Standard Wire Daschund and he is fab! He is little but really sturdy, loves the outside life followed by cuddles of an evening, really playful and friendly with my Choc lab and anyone else he meets, children absolutely love him and he loves them, and he's a great guard dog :-)

Lhasa Apso! Mine loves his walks, can be out for two hours and come bouncing home! He's also very good in the house and loves cuddles. Perfect dog really!

Am amazed to be saying that I don't think breed matters. I went to my local rescue's fête last week and I would have taken half a dozen dogs. Have a wander through your local place and see if anything takes your fancy.

I would love to rehome but we live above a pub so I dont think we would approve for a rescue!

Thanks for your comments - have been researching some breeds!

Border Terrier of course, the ultimate stable yard /sofa dog, more laid back than your cheeky JR,but jolly good at keeping rats away..or dead.:D

I don't usually post in here but for what its worth, when I did some volunteering for a small local rescue they rehomed a dog to some people who owned and lived in a pub.
