I see Natalie Whittington-Davies a breeder in Invernesshire has been jailed for 1year for selling an unsuitable pony as a schoolmaster for a child, and also forging a vets signature to get it a passport.
What do you think about the sentence?

For forgery yes she should get a decent punishment. But unless she sold a pony being 100% sure it was absolutely not right for a child, or if she lied about the pony, then she hasn't done much wrong. It's upto the buyers to decide on suitability. I don't know anything about this case, but how do we know that the childs parents didn't over exaggerate the childs ability.

From the write up in the Scotsman, the sentence appears to be for forgery and perverting the course of justice, not for the sale of the pony as such

If it is mainly for the forgery, then fine. IF it were for selling an unsuitable pony, it could mean serious trouble for anybody trying to sell any equine.
