Just a musing really, a friend has kids who bsj, the oldest is doing well and they have just bought her a new pony to be more competative on but this pony whilst being experienced wasn't cheap:eek: and is getting on in years. The thought was to look for another young pony for the older one to produce and bring on so they have a made pony for youngest without spending mega bucks again.

So I suppose the question is, do people actually breed 128 jumpers or are these ponies just found. I know of many 148s that are like small horses and have warmblood breeding but the 128s seem to be a bit of a lucky coincidence

I'm no expert on this but I would guess the majority of 128cm jumping ponies are happy accidents. You see a lot of Welsh ponies competing and also some Riding Ponies. My mum breeds Bs and Riding Ponies and a few years ago a man asked her to contact him if he had any that wouldn't make the grade for the ring as he wanted ponies with a bit of spark to make jumping ponies.

WHP breeders are out there trying to breed scopey ponies, cradle stakes etc load of breeders out there why not look on sports pony website for the stallions. Plenty of dinky ones on there! K xxx
