Na, don't worry. Just wondered because of the limited number of mares if the stud fee was going to be high.

I have to say GM, if I didn't have my own very quiet and respectful stallion who pasture-breeds my mares then I would ALWAYS breed with AI. I just wouldn't risk doing natural coverings nowadays. Each to their own though.

I used Vincent II on one of mine last year, Sue at Millfield Stud was really helpful! Even when my mares was not cooperative on ovulating, she eventually did after 3 doses and 2 ovuplant injections!
I am PMing the Twemlow charges in a mo!

my 16yo maiden caught first time to a stud with 100% sucess rates for the last 3 years and a good stallion.they did an AI package £360 for upto 3 cycles including all scans and injections if needed.
send her to a good centre and use a stallion who freezes or chills well is my advice!
my stressy mare wasnt bothered about hte process at all.

Re Waccabuc Bay Charger
My mare is Waccabuc through her dam who was Waccabuc xTB, this mare was then covered by a Welton Louis son and the result was my mare a 15 hand powerhouse. She has provided me with a 16 now 4yo colt by Irish TB Merit.
I actually like this AQH/TB cross as a foundation line.

So many stallions, only one mare...

I love QH, one of the women at my old yard (she's canadian and used to breed QH's) says my mare is the closest thing to a QH she has ever seen that has no QH blood at all. A few have said - yeah, I'll beleive it when I see it and I've posted photos and they are like.... actually, now you mention it...

She's 3/4 TB but has short but fine legs, and a really big and muscley bum and shoulder, really round and powerful.

Crossed with a real QH would be mighty interesting! Not sure how it would move though if I want to do some dressage, though realistically not going to be aiming for top levels! And I'd guess stamina for endurance wouldn't be a problem...

*GM goes off investigating again*

I think you're only sensible option really is a nice TB or quarter bred TB. Asti is so lovely, she deserves something as lovely back.

Sally F has a lovely TB stallion High Tension - plenty of bone, and a real looker.

If you go for AI - frozen is 10% less likely to take than fresh/chilled due to the thawing process so try and avoid it if possible.
