I have a friend with a small stud. It is her birthday shortly and I would like to get her a diary / organiser where she can record when the mares were covered, scanned, visiting mares arrive etc. Is there any such specific product out there and if so where can I get it?

Yes there is

My stud groom uses a stallion diary from Tindalls in Newmarket, not sure who actually makes them, but I may be able to find out for you.
You can list the mares down one side and mark off using symbol system when they were teased, covered, ovulated, foaled etc etc, and it makes it easy for you mark down when scans and such are due. Then each day you just go down the boxes for that day and you can see what mares are due for what.
