I have a pony mare who is 21 yo, she is in good health & condition.
She has had 3 foals, the last one being 6 years ago. I am considering putting her in foal next year, whats your thoughts?
at the moment she lives an easy life and is nanny to our youngsters. She has to be carefully managed as can be prone to laminitis, this has stopped us sending her away to stud but as we now have our own colt she would be covered at home.
She is a much loved mare, a big performer and winner in her day, is she too old?

If she is in general good health and you can keep her weight under control it may be worth a try if you think this would be a good combination. At least it won't cost you much to try

What is the colt that you are thinking of covering her with like?? if he suits her it could be a possibility..or the other option could be if you find a nice stallion is to do a walk in service..the stallion owner may do a discount for this...
