brendon stud..

Yes mare I used to loan is in foal to Unbelievable Darco, and a friend has just had 2 Carentino Glory foals. They have an open day around Feb time which is a great way to see there stallions in action, dressage and jumping and also to look at them in the flesh. Bob Gregory at Bookham Stud has lots of foals/ yearlings/ youngsters from stallions at Bredon Stud and knows the stallions well and will give you an idea of what you are likely to produce from your mare. We went t o look at the different youngsters before choosing U. Darco. PM if you are interested and I will pass on his contact details.

Our mare is in foal to Caretino Glory, due in May! We went to Brendons open day last year, and Shirley Light, who runs the stud, took us round to see all the stallions when they came back in to work. They have got some lovely stallions there - Joe Clee and Guy Williams have had a lot of success in the showjumping ring with Unbelievable Darco and Caretino Glory has also done well at Hickstead. They always go for temperament first, as the stud is run by Shirley and another woman, and the stallions have to travel with mares when they are competing - so they have to be really easy to handle. Unbelievable Darco has the most amazing temperament; when we were there he was following Shirley around like a big dog! They always have a lot of the youngstock at the stud, so that you can see what the stallions are producing, and they also show some of the 2 and 3 year olds at the open day. The bloodlines tend to be Cor de la Bryere/Grannex/Glorieux/Furioso/Quidam de Revel - so some very strong bloodlines. The Tourmaline Rose was put to Caretino Glory last year (I think it was) - and I think that they would be pretty fussy about which stallion they used! If you're interested, contact Shirley, as she was really helpful with us, and gave us advice about which stallion might be most suitable for our mare. I can tell you more when our foal is born!

Have never had anything to do with them, but I have to say that I'd be hard pushed to choose from their stallions!! WOW!
