Hi , I was feeding my lad a non itchy suppliment which contained brewers yeast. It worked wonders so went back after 8 weeks to reorder to find the price had gone up by 60%. So being a tight wad I looked around and found Hilton Herbs Brewers Yeast at local feed merchants. Nipped back today to get more....they have none! Will be about 10 days. ( I should be going on hol sat and wanted to leave plenty of everything ) Tried the Hilton website , they want £6 for delivery. So question is Holland and barret have "debittered brewers yeast" at a reasonable price...low postage too but is it the bitter bit that makes it work? has anyone else used the H&B stuff? Was it OK?

I don't wish to sound rude, but would it not just be easier to pay the £6 postage atleast then you know it will be fine for your horse.

But to answer your question I would imagine it wouldn't work the same way as the 'normal' brewers yeast, although not 100% sure could you ask the h&b store manager and see if they know the answer

I get mine from naturalhorsesupplies, not had a prob, I just order a few kilos at a time, max delivery cost £7.99 x

this ^^.
I buy a load of different bits from here (why on earth would I pay extra for pretty plastic boxes?!) and they are always fab. Lots of useful info on the website too.

It was Naturalhorsesupplies that put the price up...agree the stuff is good but miffed that I sung their praises on here to everyone , now they are busy the prices have gone up loads. The one I was using went from £2.49 to £3.99. Doesnt seem much but a pack only last 5 or 6 days so adds up as I bought in bulk last time. Guess I may have to bite the bullet but I am just one of those people who like to think they bought well.

If you get through that much then I would try charnwood milling. You can get 20kg sacks of it so would work out way cheaper. I just get the little bags from natural horse as I don't get through anywhere near as much!

I have stopped using them because of the sudden jump in prices and I think their p&p has always been steep. A bag of Herbal Shine, which would only last my boy ten days, also jumped up from £2.49 to £3.99, it would be cheaper for me to feed Pink Powder.

My latest lot of BY came from Feedmark, their p&p is free and they've got 15% off ATM.

Yes it is fine to use - I also used the Holland and Barrett brewers yeast while waiting for a delivery, but actually at 10X the human dose, it doesn't work out cheaper :)
