Brewers Yeast to stop sweet itch???

Heard the same and had my sweetitch mare on it last year, she only has mild sweetitch but still was terribly itchy if she had a break from her sweetitch rug. Maybe it helped a bit, but certainly no where near enough to be able to take her rug off.
Mineral balancing this year, some of her other niggles have improved alot so I will be interested to see if it has any affect on her sweetitch.

I found charnwood millings BY helped immensley with my lads sweetitch but the Nettex brand didn't make much difference.

Charnwood millings BY gave him an amazing coat and that year he looked the best he ever had!

I think that the time of year can really make a difference when you start to feed brewers yeast. I really does need to be started early to have most effect and should be percevered without every day from then on. We have tried premium grade yeast and Charnwood yeast (feed grade) Our horses didn't like the taste of the feed grade and were less likely to eat it. The specification for each is very similar. However, the feed grade smells a bit odd and is quite bitter to taste.
