Just wondering if anybody else has noticed this whilst feeding brewers yeast.
Started feeding it about 2 weeks ago to both my section a's as my mare suffers quite badly from sweet itch, gelding doesnt but we do have a lot of midges so thought it wouldnt do him any harm as they must still annoy him.
Since feeding I have noticed my boys stable is much wetter than normal and also his poo is looser, not runny but definately different.
Im going to stop his brewers yeast and see if it makes any difference but has anybody else had a horse react in this way.By the way luckily the mare who actually needs the protection from midges doesnt seem affected at all.

Can't say I have noticed a difference when I put my two back on it in March, but Farra being a Clydesdale pees a gallon a time as a matter of course. Dandelion - yes they did pee more but that would be expected.

No difference with my two since feeding it 8 months ago. Mind you, if The Tank got any wetter he'd drown.

Could it be the spring grass?

Did wonder about the spring grass, although they are in a pretty bare trashed field but have noticed them nibbling at tufts of possible grass rather than haynets so perhaps there is a bit coming through.
Just in a bit of a dilemma with myself because if the yeasy is going to help him I dont really want to stop feeding it and then having to build it back up again if it wasnt the cause.
Opinions please would be great, like I say stable is a lot wetter and poo looser but he seems fine in himself,no weight loss,no increase in amount he drinks and his coat looks healthy where the winter wool is starting to shed so Im not overly worried about him just curious, would you just carry on with the yeast and see if things change by themselves.
He is only a 3 year old and I got him towards the end of last summer so dont know if any changes might just be how season changes affect him.
