I feed this to my gelding who appeared to have sweet itch until I started him on brewer's yeast!!

I bought the "pharmaceutical grade" stuff from Robinsons but when it ran out I bought some from equimins. They're like chalk and cheese! The Robbie's one is fine and lighter in colour - the equimins one is darker and coarser with a stronger smell. They both seem to be doing the trick but I wondered if anyone else has seen this before between manufacturers?

😃

It's natural. Brewers yeast is a yeast after all and they do vary from batch to batch depending what is being "brewed" with it and now that there are so many different beers on the market there's bound to be variances. My husband brews beer and uses different types depending what he's making. They all smell different and have a different texture and smell.

If you wan't consistency, why don't you try yea-sacc? That is a live strain and specific type so not yet used.
