Growing up as a child we always had Briards. My parents still have one old girl, they origionally said they would breed from her so I could have a pup or two, but she is far too old now and to be honest her breeding was not quite good enough to justify it in their eyes so they never did.
We used to go to Wales for new briards as my parents thought very highly of a breeder who was based there. I'm now looking for my own as really miss having them about.
Does anyone know any breeders closer to Sussex area? I have no idea if the lady in Wales still exists. They don't seem to be that popular in Sussex so I'm having a hard time finding any.

Try ringing Max Jones the Chairman of the British Briard Club. You can get his number from their web site. www.thebritishbriardclub.org.uk He is a lovely guy and would be glad to help you. (say Heidi's owner put you on to him) He may even have puppies now although he is in Somerset. Good luck, I do envy you, I had four 2 fawn and 2 black - Heidi was one of Max's, but that was nearly 30 years ago!! We decided when our last old girl died at the age of 15 to go for a breed with a less demanding coat, but I do miss them.

I don't think thats the breeder, but thank you so much for the lunk and info :) I was a kid back when we went to Wales for puppies. I always remember the breeders home being very dusty and hairy but total Briard heaven! The breeder was a woman with mild breathing issues yet she still shared her house with loads of huge hairy beasts! Growing up we had two beautiful bitches, a black and a fawn. Sheba the fawn died quiet early for a Briard, but Gypsy the black one lived to a ripe old age and was my best childhood friend! We Now have Jas the black bitch who lives with my dad, she is getting on a bit now, I remember getting her from Wales when I was younger.
Thanks for the info :D
