Hi
Following my earlier post/rant about how i kept getting balloted out of events i've finally got in to one, Bricky. Ive never been there before and would just like to know what the pre novice course is like. Any fences in particular that cause problems, going (though im guessing it'l be rather soft if the weather continues to be as it is) and any other things that have been known to cause problems

!
Thanks

How do you know you are in? I havent had my letter yet. I am doing the intro.
The pre novice is up to height with plenty of questions but they always have alternatives at the more difficult ones.
Its a lovely event run by great organisers who do all they can to make it a fun enjoyable day for everyone.
The only criticism is the dressage warm up which is small and on a slope but they cant really do anything about that.

Last year they had 5 hours of continuous rain (and mist) and the ground held up remarkably well.

Dressage warm-up is a pain. Other than that, fine. Can't think of any bogey fences. Maybe the water has a lots of elements. Nothing massive.

Give yourself a little longer to get there as it's a way off the main road.

Put it this way - the PN is not small, it shares fences such as a bigbrush skinny with the novice, and the organisers comment of it not being for first timers is accurate - it was built as the landrover champs course and as such is up to height. I haven't ridden the PN, but the novice was skinny central and very twisty. Rode well though.

If you are a member of eventingworldwide there should be course pics on from last year because I'm pretty sure I took all 3 courses.

Yes, agree with Spotted Cat. It is an accuracy course with getting your lines right to skinnies etc. As she says, it always seems to ride well.
