Went yesterday as Novice was day before dressage. I went with Spotted Cat so got picked up. Arrived watched SC do her bit then it was my turn. My horse was horrible he was on a mission but it was not a dressage one. He would not chill in the warm up and his trot work felt awful so had no choice but to go in. It was ok in bits but he was pretty awful he refused to canter on the correct leg on both reins getting a lovely big fat 2 and a 3. Git. He then marched out of the arena and back to the box. He score 43.
Walked the course and thought it was really technical was not looking forward to riding it as I hate technical courses especially twisty ones.
Settled both horses into their accomodation - then went to local pub for supper.
This morning got up early so we could walk the course again and then SC did her bit SJ and XC.
Sj was ok I had 2 down one through him being spooky and another through him being lazy but in between he jumped really well and pinged.
XC well he blasted round and was so good gave me a wonderful ride and went all the straight routes. For me my best moment was him flying in to the water over a log with drop as he was totally water phobic when I first had him. There were two drops with skinnys, skinny angled double where he held his line and a corner which normally I avoid like the plague. I am so pleased with my pony and it made up for him being so awful yesterday.

In 2 novice sections with 100 people only 2 were inside the time. Everybody else had time faults. I had 26 because hard work on a big horse setting up and turning the whole time. Did not feel I had gone that slowly but hey ho we can get quicker.

Oh he is a totaly monkey isn't he

one down really, as you said one was your fault!

And even more well done for the XC..

Sod the dressage. that will come!!!

I bet you're really looking forwards to next season now!

I think you did brilliantly, especially as all your bogey fences were there! One to go back to I think. I have no idea what either of them were thinking in the dressage - certainly nothing about dressage!

Yuk dressage what is the world coming to when I have a winter of BSJA and BD coming up?

Sounds like a very respectable score L, frustrating to think you could have added so many marks had he not forgotten how to canter, still that's easy to fix & he sounds like he's finding the jumping easy.
