I will be looking to get a bridle for my new horse in a few weeks...any advice on makes to avoid or makes that are a must? I'm about dizzy reading everything online.
Not sure how much you are willing to spend I have an Albion comfort bridle with a cavesson noseband, had it 2 years now and it still looks as good as new and it's lovely and soft.
I had a Stubben bridle which was the best i had ever had (dont know why i ever sold it!!) . For my new mare as i was just in the process of breaking her i bought a gallop comfort bridle off of Ebay for £26- thought it would be cheap and nasty but to be honest it was pretty damn good for the money and a year later still looks pretty new and nothing gone wrong with it- i woudln't hesitate in buying another an dhave recommended them to loads of people. J Barkley also selels nice English leather bridles on Ebay for around £40 which are supposed to be really good quality for the price (RRP in shops is £100+). You can get loads of cheap and discounted bridles on Ebay (especially Stubben) Now i've had a comfort bridle for Ellie i would never have anything else
I have an old jeffries plain hunter bridle - it's nearly 20 years old now, and still in regular use and looks great. well worth the money and if I had to buy a new bridle it would be the same again!
I like Jefferies and Fylde. They come up beautifully time and time again.
I don't like Sabre - mine quickly went tatty looking, and dull. Despite being cared for properly. It's possible I had a poor example, but one is all it takes.
