bridle indecision!!

My comfort headpiece looks like this: - the parts that attach to the cheek pieces go over the top of the headpiece rather than through a hole.
What about this type OZ?

I have a sabre cordoba which I love. The headpiece is very soft. There is no noseband leather that goes across the poll at all. Instead, it has the headpiece and then coming from that a strap on each side onto which the noseband fastens. It was blooming expensive though. I bought it when I was ill to cheer myself up and it did that!

Thank you Oz that's very helpful...the bridle headpeice i want altered is as you said the weakened one is...is a mark Todd one. I will see is i can just get a new cut away head price that doese cost more than a new bridle :'( add in the fact he is a full.bridle but has to have pony cheek prices as he has a odd head.

thank you.

You're welcome, unless someone shows you what's wrong then people may not be aware of the problem.

Shires leather is awful quality. For £50, you'd be better off putting another £20 to it and buying a sabre which will last many years (unless horse stands on it!) IMO.

I don't find shires leather bad quality, my shires bridles have worn incredibly well (better than my friends devocoux) and the leather is buttersoft.

I also recomend JHL bridles, they are good quality. The rhinegold comfort bridles I have had have been pretty decent and weren't too pricey.
