Hey,

Is it possible to make your own bridles ?
I remember seeing an article in a horse magazine about leather work courses, but i cant find it now.

I was wondering if you could, where you trained, and where you got your materials. :)

I've heard its only a short course, so I'd like to have a go :D

Thanks :)

Yes it is, and it's brilliant!!
I went to David May in Cumbria and I would recommend him 100 times over! http://www.saddlerycourses.com/default.htm
I have been up there for the bridlework 1 and 2 (each course is 5 days run over week days) - I didn't do them together, there was a few months between them. I prefered it like this as it gave me the chance to get more capable and therefore get more out of the second course. I'm off up there in oct for the box making course too, can't wait!
I get my materials from Abbey http://www.abbeysaddlery.co.uk/ and also le prevo http://www.leprevo.co.uk/
Le prevo you can just order from, but to be able to order from abbey you just need to fill in their form to get an account first. I just use abbey for my bridle butts (I use John Whites, better than sedgwicks)
Hope you enjoy, I love making my own stuff and am now starting my own business doing made to measure.
