I want to buy a new bridle and am wondering if anyone has any advice regards brand. I am looking for a good quality leather, black quite chunky as my girl is an ID with flash nose band - just so I have the option when i hunt her.. I have found a stubben one on equestrian clearance for £118 and I was just wondering if anyone could advise on this price, quality etc.

i have a stubben saddle and I love it but haven't had first had experience of their bridles and heard that the quality wasnt up to what you pay for them

any advise would be great.

Thanks.

Oakfield saddlery do good bridles they also sell Jeffries , Sabre and Stubben...but their own brand is very good quality one of the ponies we produce came with one for every day and I was very impressed. Apparently it was delivered within 3 days. If you google oakfield saddlery the website will come up think they call it oakfield direct??

If you are looking for a top of the range bridle the Albion KB comfort bridle is well made from excellent quality leather, I've just brought one and it looks stunning. You can get various nosebands and reins but it is expensive at about £150 to £200.

I have a couple of stubben bridles & really like them. Decide on the model you want & then trawl the internet for the best price. once you've got an idea of price, search on ebay, you'll probably save yet more buying from there....don't get carried away in the auction though, I've seen some people buy at more than you can get them in the shops

Hi, I have a KB Bridle which I bought at Badminton one year. Designed as a dressage bridle I think but used by the likes of William Fox Pitt according to their advertising! It has a padded poll and noseband and a selection of buckles and reins, mine is brown and lovely leather though you can buy them in black as well.
i've been very pleased with mine although only disadvantage is you have to use their nosebands as they fit their headband and have a buckle each side unlike normal noseband that you thread through the headband.

My stubben bridle is still going strong 4 years later, however i have a heritage bridle that I prefer and use most of the time. If i am eventing or combined training I use my stuben for the jumping phase.

Thought I had replied to this, but obviously not, you could try this guy, top quality and reasonable prices. If you send him a photo he will help you decide the best widths to use for each part.

I have a Heritage bridle I was bought 9-10 months ago. It was a nice bridle when I got it, but it already looks very warn I was very disapointed with how qickly it is looking tatty. It looks much worse than my other mares bridle and that is 15 years old.
