Having real problems getting a bridle to fit Herbie. Cob is too big and pony is too small

Need a large pony or small cob size!!
Any recommendations?
He is Anglo Arab, and has smallish head.
Currently he has Magic's red leather bridle which was a large pony size, with chestnut reins from the lovely cob bridle I bought him which is way too big

The browband is a few inches to big, which is a shame as it's a smashing bridle...

Also has a black martingale, so he is looking very odd at the moment

Sounds like he needs an Arab size bridle. Do you need to have leather? Otherwise Performance Equestrian do some great zilco bridles in lots of different colours - they are designed to fit Arab heads.

I have the same problem with my arab mare. She has a pony size bridle with a cob size noseband. I cant buy a complete bridle. Not much help, sorry. Someone out there must make an arab size bridle.

My pure-bred Arab wore a smallish cob-size bridle but I did have to get a different browband because of the broader forehead. Izzy, the Anglo, has an off-the-peg cob size bridle from TDS Saddlers. Couldn't you just buy the bridle in pieces. . . cob noseband/pony cheek pieces etc ?

Same as everyone else, I used to buy a cob size and then use a larger noseband and browband and whack pony size cheek pieces on, awkward creatures these ayrabs aren't they?

For the sake of tradition, and a peaceful life, I did have my hunting bridle custom made.

Then I got wise and bought a western bridle with just a slip head and one ear piece, easy to adjust. You can get them with throatlash (or is that throat LATCH?) as well if you prefer.

You're not looking for an actual arab bridle are you? Do you want leather or synthetic and how much would you pay? My local saddler makes fantastic bridles to any size and he is not terribly expensive. You could ask him for a quote. Try here
