bridle with clip cheekpieces?

Much cheaper to ask a cobbler to put clips on your current favourite bridle. I've asked the cobbler at Timpsons in Asda to do some unusual repairs before. No harm in taking in a bridle and asking if thye can do it and asking for a price.

Thank you both! I like the second one Ffionwinnie, am a fan of slightly unusual tan colours :-)

That is a good point cinammon toast, just I am buying a new bridle anyway as the last one I got was like £7 on ebay and totally cardboard like for a youngster who broke things all the time!

I am buying a new horse (hopefully if vetting goes OK... trying not to get too excited for now but secretly shopping!) but having had ear plaques she doesn't like having her ears bent when bridling so thought a clip one would be a good solution, as the buckles on the bit really aren't designed to be undone on most bridles and I have a bad arm so would like to minimise faffing!

Plus it seems quite useful to be able to unclip the bit when tying up etc as they do in endurance :-)

I've got this exact bridle, my friend bought me one last year for my mare but the fit is really small even with a full size, luckily it fits the tb I'm breaking in at the mo.
Also the clips on mine have started the rust and peel, so for the money I think there will be better bridles about

I just bought a black (with white stitching) bridle from a stall at hoys. It was just called Englsh Bridle Company.

It was £70 and she chucked in some clipped cheek pieces.

How exciting mandwhy, good luck choosing :D

Mine is coming with a very nice bridle which I don't like the colour of so will have to restrain myself from getting a new one

I have a browband from my childhood....it has an extra loop with a billet fastening on each end. Put that on a headcollar and you can clip on a headpiece, cheek pieces and a bit/reins......works a treat and so easy!!!

Thanks Suzie G! I saw that site ages ago and haven't been able to remember the name since haha. It is good as you can combine cob/full etc and they often have good sale things!

Ah thanks miss rose I was thinking I'd rather see it up close if I was spending that much, and small fitting won't be food for new horse I don't think :-)

Only thing I can say about clip cheek pieces is they are very jangly/scrapy on the bit rings.

I ended up wrapping micropore around mine to stop it.

I wouldn't get another.

That browband is from a military bridle, surprised you don't see more of them around as they are a fantastic piece of kit
