Bridlepath international - Saddler fitters Essex/Herts/Kent??

Has anyone had any experience of Bridlepath International, good or bad? My 5 yo ISH is proving a nightmare to fit - no wither and flat back - and so far have had a few bad experiences with different saddler fitters including a very disappointing purchase from WOW!! :

I am looking at bridlepath international as they seem to have a wide range but have no idea if they will travel to me - Essex.

Alternatively does any one know of any decent saddle fitters in Essex or who will at least travel here and those to avoid - PM if you prefer, and what companies do saddles to suit the flatter back?

Help and advice is very much appreciated
 
Phone Bridlepath and speak to Laura. I am in Notts and also used them - just last week in fact through hearing about them on here. They are excellent. I discussed what I was looking for and type and price range etc before they came and they came with loads of different saddles. They measured and photographed my horse and we narrowed it down to the best that fit the horse and then I rode in all those and chose which I liked best. I even tried the one I liked best - twice. They dont rush or push you and waited patiently whilst I rode my horse around trying them out. Cant recommend them enough. They travel far and wide I think so def worth a call.
 
Hi, I had a difficult mare that had VERY high withers and was VERY narrow!! I contacted Minster Saddlers, based in Kent, who travelled to my area of Essex. They make Made to Measure which sounds expensive but in fact my made to measure was only £650 and made of gorgeous English Leather! I have never felt so "part of the horse" as I did when I rode my mare in it!

I dealt with a gentleman called Ian, who was very calm and expained EVERYTHING! They're also looking into customers having saddles on a pay monthly basis!

I am in South Notts and I've used Bridlepath International - EXCELLENT service.

They came and looked at my mare, and selected three saddles that would fit, and fitted my specification too, and budget!

I then rode in all three, narrowing it down to one. I then had my Dad come and look.

All in all, I think it took about 2-2 1/2hrs and they couldn't be faulted. I got a superb Barnsby 2nd hand saddle and I'm really happy.
 
I was just about to put up a post praising Bridlepath but shall do it on here instead!

I had another saddler (recommended from the forum

) utterly screw up my beautiful saddle, and very nearly my horse's back too. After physio and a month off, I was looking for a saddler to repair the damage the other idiot did.

Bridlepath came out last week (we're in Essex too) and were fantastic. Explained the problem, spent a long time looking at my horse, taking templates and pointing out uneven-ness and issues, then reflocking and balancing the saddle. After that she watched me ride in it, and ensured that he was going ok after all the problems. All sorted now

Thanks so much for all your feedback - it seems that Bridlepath are definatley worth a call. Does anyone have a mobile number as i've been trying the landline with no luck.

Also, is it Laura who does the fitting?

They do normally call you back if you leave a message on the answerphone. I don't have a mobile for them though, sorry.

It was Ali who did my saddle fitting.

Laura's Dad did my fitting, she took the company over from him, he was fab.

Leave a message - they do call back, but as you can imagine from all the replies on here, they are out fitting every day.

I had a really good experience with Bridlepath.
I purchased my boy with no muscle and he change shape so much I ended up with 3 different saddles in six months.
Bridlepath exchanged them everytime giving me back just about what I paid for them.
Cant ask for better than that.
 
Another Bridlepath International fan here. Superb service from knowledgeable helpful people who are in no way pushy. They checked and flocked three saddles and fitted one with a new one on our yard, each and every horses way of going has improved beyond belief. Fantastic service.
