Any one fancy briefing me on above... got a tricky question and cant seem to find answer in my NVQ2 books
Need to know do and dont dos for using bridlepaths, who to report problems to ect.
Thanks in advance.x

By etiquette do you mean what do you do if you meet ramblers/walkers/dog walkers?
If so, being on a bridleway horses have priority, so come back to a walk and walk past, if narrow walkers should tuck in and wait for you to pass, dogs should be on a lead or held by the collar.
If meeting other horses, come back to walk and walk calmly past.

I was always taught that you abide by the rules of the road (i.e. ride on the same side of the track as you would on a road to pass other users), and that you should Always walk past other users (horses, walkers whatever).

Yes I'm afraid it really is as boring as that....

It should be edited so that on Bridleways "horses have priority over everything and may mow everything down in thier paths should they wish" and I think this would be good: Horse-riders may claim footpaths if enough walkers and cyclists are mown down without a fight. A victory flag may be erected to signify ownership of new Bridleway.

:D

Seconded... The victory flag should be suitably bloodsplattered and perhaps display the flattened corpse of a walker?

pmsl JFTD just sat here giggling at that but really doesnt it come down to showing respect to each other - if im on a bridle way i will gladly wait whilst walkers etc go past and with a smile which is normally returned with a hello and smile and do you know that always makes me feel so good but equally i would hope walkers etc would stop for me :)

PMSL

Can we add "Riders are not liable for any injuries caused to dogs that are off the lead"

Good point babymare... I definitely think if walkers and cyclists fail to respect us jolly riders, we can freely choose method of "mowing down". Either way, the act of throwing oneself into bramble bush in order to leap out of our way and therefore resulting in impalation is not entirely our fault.

Yay. Victory! One more Bridlepath feather in our caps.

This may actually work!!!!
