New chap needs a new bridle, hes a Sec D. Have seen a bridle where he cheek pieces clip onto the bit, and also the throat latch has a clip and not buckle. I have a feeling this is not legal for BD, or even unaffiliated run under BD rules. Can anyone let me know why? Or is there a really obvious answer.?

You are correct, you can’t ride under BD rules with a bridle that uses clips to attach the bit. I’m not sure of the reason, BD aren’t always logical 😉

Logical? Neither are Equestrian Australia Dressage. I think its now a plus 200 page document, with photos. I send it occasionally to showjumping friends with a desire to 'visit the dark side', with a young horse, or whatever, and they're like 'wot'> but I think their bitting regs could do with some attention.

The sad pic for me is all the wild top boot colours. I'm sure you have the same over there. I have a sneaking suspicion unless you've cracked out a line of one tempi changes in hot pink De Niro top boots, you haven't lived. I haven't lived. Mine are black.
