bridles micklem vrs a comfort bridle

I have both. I went back to a comfort bridle after trying a Micklem; my reason for trying one was not because of any problems but because I liked the theory of how and why it was designed. It didn't really make any difference, and actually my horse prefers an ordinary bridle without a flash or drop (the Micklem has quite a gentle noseband which fits below the bit, but I guess my horse is sensitive there). He seemed to rub his nose more in the Micklem.

I also got one. Not because of probs just cos I liked the theory. Didn't notice a difference. Sold it and got a comfort bridle by Caldene. No difference. I should have bought my fav-stubben. I don't think comfort bridles are that much more comfortable than a well fitting standard

I tried a Micklem, but mine is another who prefers a loose cavesson. We now have a Sabre Cordobra, it is lovely, and we use it for BD, BE, BS, hacking and everyday. It still looks like new a year on :-)

I too tried a micklem but my horse didnt really like the drop noseband style so I only use it now when i want to ride bitless.

I have a Micklem bridle and I LOVE it, my horse goes so much better in it, I will never go back to a normal bridle while my boy is happy in the Micklem, I used a drop noseband before so he is used to it. I am not sue what the reaction from judges will be when I show him in it, will have to wait and see.

My horse didn't go any different in a Micklem...I sent it back because I refuse to spend that amount of money on nasty, cheap leather (which is what it looked like it was made from)
Horse is now v happy in a Sabre bridle with a gel pad on the headpiece.
