Hey all,

I got Sailor yesterday and my full bridle doesn't seem to fit him very well. :o It's a full size on a 16hh cob but had to add extra holes in nose and throat lash and brow seems a tad tight! :(
So on the look for a new one! What would you suggest?

Thanks for the ideas :D

Glad to hear he's home ok!! Can I suggest a very big bridle or is that just being facetious?
You could take the measurements of his face and then contact Matt Marlow of www.heritagesaddlery.co.uk and get one from him that fits ok - he probably won't be any more expensive than one off the hook...he's made me some fantastic stuff...he's the original Heritage not the horrid dried out stuff from that well known trade saddlery.....if you're interested I'll PM you Matt's number.

Oh i do like Heritage! I can't believe he doesn't fit in Ollie's though! I think I am looking at an extra large and add more holes to shrink it lol.

He is doing really well and taking it all in his stride/snort! Never met a tractor or bale of straw.. opps and I took him through the straw barn with the tractor in it lol Then met the pigs and lambs and the collection of plastic animals and snorted and looked and when asked to walk on he took off at trot :o The only issue was I walked him back into the yard and he stood on my boot and I went splat! I now have a very rosie knew that will be very stiff in the morning (sack of potatoes comes to mind).
Other then that he got no sleep last night with the grass, so I found him at lunch time curled up in his stable :p :D

I've never used amigo but if the leather quality is decent then why not?
Kincade also do bridles in your price range or you could go on ebay for a second hand jeffries, stubben or similar

I know your problem ! The JHL raised bridles are really good, my 16.2hh tb goes in a cob with plenty of holes to go up and down, and the browband is plenty big enough. x

It doesn't surprise me that he doesn't fit a full. My boy has full bridle but oversized noseband and he's only 15hh. He needs oversized neckstraps too! and don't talk to me about travel boots :)

I bought mine from oakfield and made it up from individual pieces. Wasn't cheap because i went for thickest leather and a 2 inch noseband but it is beautiful

really?!!! Ron is 16.2hh and IDx. He's in an ancient Jeffries plain bridle. It's a full size and he's on the shortest it will go! His double bridle is a collegiate cob size and it's spot on!!
