I went to Ingatestone recently to look at bridles as I was torn between the kieffer bridles or albion ones. Having seen them in the flesh I prefer the kieffer one although I may invest in an albion one when my youngster is older
I bought a lovely rolled leather bridle with patent noseband from Hypostore. It's beautiful and only cost about £80 so added a nice sparkly equiture browband and some sheepskin padding but that's just me... Lol
Albion bridles are absolutely lovely, as are passier. I haven't seen the english bridles ones but have their headcollars and have been very impressed with the quality of the leather & the service on each occasion.
I went to YourHorse Live last year just to have a look at and buy a bridle from English Bridles, really didn't rate them, the leather wasn't very nice and they looked quite cheap and bought a Kate Negus instead which is fantastic quality.
Have three Barnsbys which are my favourite and you can choose what type of noseband you want, I hate flashes, have had one for 6 years and it still looks brand new even though I left out out in 24 hours of non stop rain.
Also have a kikon comfort bridle which are made by an ex Barnsby saddler.
After yearning for a Stubben which i do like i actually prefer my Sabre Cordobra bridle which the quality of the leather is so much nicer than the Stubben which being english leather is no surprise best bargin i ever bought of ebay
If you don't mind the price equipe makes gorgeous bridles and so does prestige and dyon (although some say that the leather is not quite up to the price).
I own an inexpensive fss bridle that I bought on eBay a few years ago and it still looks new ( until my horse broke the keeper on the throatlash)
If you have a proper traditional saddler or harness maker near you then get one made-to-measure. I found that price wise it is pretty comparable with the good-quality brands and you can have exactly what you want with regards to sizing, design, details etc.
Oooh, interesting thread - I too need a new bridle
I do have a Stubben and a Kate Negus but both in cob size and my new girl is full size. The KN is beautiful but Albion look nice too - I'm torn between the two makes...
