Has anyone here got the Collegiate ComfiTec bridle..??? I saw one today and fell in love with the feel and shape of it and am considering getting one for Rex. Would this be a suitable bridle for a newly started horse..?? Are they as horse friendly as they claim to be..???
Or does anyone have a really nice bridle they can recommend..?? ???

I used to work for Weatherbeeta and was there when these bridles were launched, selling them to retailers. They are absolutely fantastic - I now have three haha! My horse loves it. I was a bit sceptical but actually it’s made such a difference I wouldn’t be without mine now.

I ordered a cob size for C ( not the avatar) and had to send it back. The headpiece was barely big enough from slit to slit and the cheeks were too long. The ‘alternative’ noseband did not reach round the nose by about 5” no matter how I adjusted it.
I ordered the fleece noseband one by mistake and found you couldn’t use it without the fleece as the velcro is on the underside of the noseband.
Pic of C, she is unknown cob x, 15.1

I have one for my cob who normally wears a small cob size and had to swap it for a full, but he absolutely loves it and goes noticeably nicer in it. I like that you can adjust the drop noseband so it is just right on the nose rather than have to put up with where the rings are placed, and the padded head piece is lovely too. I have also bought the normal cavesson/flash to go with it as it is ergonomically shaped too but I haven't used it yet as he likes the ComFiTec noseband so much. I swapped back to my old bridle with grackle to go hunting at the weekend and he didn't feel as responsive.

I wish it had fitted as I had no chance to ride C in it.

Sabre Córdoba sensitive cavesson bridle.

They are £169 new (albeit 15% off in Jan from Sabre) but they do come up secondhand. I’ve recently lucked on two really nice s/h ones off eBay for £70 and £90 each. My 16.1hh IDx mare fits the extra full size well, plus Sabre are going to make me a set of cheekpieces with fulmer snaffle loops on my request.

I was looking at these, hears really good things apart from they come up small. Very reasonable priced as well compared to the ps of Sweden bridles

I got my ComFiTec in the black Friday sale, it was only £59 from Gold Star Equestrian but they went back up to full price the day after...smug!!

Kramer do some anatomical bridles similar to these and Micklems. Not sure what the quality or sizing is like though.

I have a Kramer anatomical bridle (felix beuhler it however it’s spelt!)
It’s a lovely looking bridle and fits well. But the leather is “odd”. Some of it looks like real leather and some of it looks synthetic. I like it though!

I love my Henry James bridle & you order all the bits separately, makes sizing easier. They are also v quick with refunds/exchanges if you do order wrong size ?
Had several people comment on how nice my bridle is.

I’d go for a cob size in that case. ?
Going to disagree... Mine is the same, pony head but needed a full - we are almost on top holes though, just cob wouldn't reach on the noseband. I got full in the flash noseband too and it is the same. Tempted to get the shorter cob cheeks though.

Worth measuring to be safe and giving Weatherbeeta a call to check measurements once you have them.

Also worth remembering that these bridles are not designed to be used with different nosebands as this will have an impact on their action and negate what they were designed to do.

I wanted to keep all my samples when I finished launching them to retailers, but my boy (who is always a full size) is most definitely an extra full in them so I had to wait another six months until extra full was launched haha.

See my post above. C has a small head for a cob x but the special noseband did not reach underneath.
I found it impossible to translate the Comfitec measurements on to my normal bridle.
