Is there such a thing ? Is there a map especially identifying bridleways (as opposed to an OS map hats has them, but one has to search amongst everything else identified) ?

Would anyone else find such a thing useful ?

Hi- not sure if there is a dedicated bridleway map, but I do have an alternative which may help!

On my iphone, ive downloaded the OS ordinance surgery map app. You have to pay a little for each section of map (depending on what scale you buy from 69p- £2 i think- but each section covers about a 20mile square!)

You can then see this on your phone and see bridleways etc etc. I also use to plan long hacking routes but planning a route/dropping pins and it calculates how many miles and how long it will take etc. Or, you can 'record a route' but i guess this only works if you have signal at the time.

Anyway, I find it quite helpful! :D

What about all the ridden routes (packhorse trails and lanes) that are marked down on OS maps as footpaths (don't get me started on the injustice of having to reclaim these routes). Wish we could all arrange to take our horses out onto the roads at the same time, the powers that be might then think about giving us more bridleways.
