Just wondering if anyone here knows what bridleways in and around the above areas have parking for horseboxes.Having got mobile, we are keen to do more hacking as have only one bridleway vaguely near our yard,(requiring long trek down busy A road)but other than the forestry commission at Wendover, we can't find anywhere or anyone locally that knows where we can ride because ther seems to be a lack of horsebox parking.Have tried to get in touch with Asheridge, but noone has got back to me

Does anyone know of any local pubs near bridleways who allow you to use thier car park facilities,or anything similar? What does everyone do? You can't all be lucky enough to have a network of bridleways right on your doorstep-can you?

Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

It is worth contacting yards near good bridleways to see if they would let you park for a fee. The watermeadows in Bricket Wood are lovely. It may be worth contacting Little Munden to see if they would let you park. There is parking along School Lane as well. www.mcfarming.co.uk to get Little Munden phone numbers. There are river rides, bridle paths etc.

There are some in Milton Keynes, we have lots of bridleways around us and there are a few places to park - depending on how big your box is obviously!

There are 54 miles of Bridleways around MK.

Woburn Sands. Good Parking just up from Grt Brickhill/A5/Woburn sands junction.

Some is permit only tho - Think you have to contact the Stovegrove estate for a permit - however its only like 20quid for a years permit (as opposed to Gaddesdon which is about 20quid for a day permit!)

Thanks so much everyone. My mum in law used to be a member of the Chiltern distance Riders-but its adults only. That's fine for me, but not my teenager, however maybe worth while me doing it, so I also have some fun

MONTHLY PARK & HORSE RIDE.

This event repeats every month on the first Sunday until Sunday 6 December 2009.

To make sure there are not more people than parking spaces, can you please email or call with details of horse box / trailer and number of horses by the Wednesday before the ride.

A charge of £5 per horse box/trailer is required; money will need to be put in an envelope through the farm front door.

Parking directions and details of the riding route will be e-mailed or posted to you following your booking.

This arrangement will depend on those involved being courteous to the farm owners and others parking at the farm, putting the money through the letter box and leaving the farm yard clean and tidy (taking muck and hay home with them – unless otherwise specified).

START TIME: 10:30 - 16:00

LOCATION: Quinbury Farm, Hay Street, near Braughing, Herts, SG11 2RE.

Please contact Dawn Grocock on 01992 555235 or email; dawn.grocock@hertscc.gov.uk
