My partner saw Viento in the school at showjumpin yard today and couldn't believe his eyes. In fact, he had to do a double take!

Viento was doing a 2'9" course with a 13 year old girl, in the pouring rain.

He said he was going around like a pro in a beautiful outline and jumping like an absolute stag!!!!!

Knew he would enjoy jumping more than boring dressage!

Neither!

I decided that, in order to sell him, he needed a career change and I don't jump!

So, a very well known local show jumping trainer has him for a while to teach him the ins and outs of jumpy jumpys!

sounds excellent, only think I would worry that a 13yr old is schooling your horse when presumably your paying for it?

ok if your not paying for it, not an issue maybe
If I was paying for my horse to be schooled to jump I would want the experienced SJer to be doing to schooling, not a kid, that would be the problem.

Just to be pedantic, none of us on here know the background of said 13yo - they may be a happy hacker (doubtful) or they may have been on Area PC teams......

_SN_, exactly!

I don't know her background. I think she is the daughter of the yard manager and competes a lot but, I don't care; its all good for him. And for someone to get a horse that has only ever jumped once, doing a whole course with confidence is good enough for me. lol

I am very pleased to see that the beautiful Viento is doing well. I am sure he will find the perfect home once he's established in his new career. It's lovely that he is obviously enjoying it, and I guess you will feel very relieved and happy for him.

Ah, that's good to hear Piaffee

I think it matters not what the age of the rider is, if they can jump and are under instruction, it wouldn't matter if she was 90

I know some 13 year olds round here that are a damn sight better than some of the adults!

And it's a bloody good selling point if he can be jumped by a 13 yo girl.
