has anyone been to brightwells monthly horse and pony sale if you have is it any good. or do you know of any other regular sales in uk.

I have been and I think it is very good. All the horses are in good condition, no really sad sights and it seems to run efficiently. Some can make good prices too.

how does it work there. do they have vettings etc. if you buy do you need to transport them that day. what sort of prices should i expect to pay. SORRY for so many questions

I tend to go every month.
There is generally a good mix of horses, but nothing special. A nice one tends to make over the odds money wise. Anything that is coloured makes big bucks.
Everything except the debt/bankrupt stock have warranty and can be fully vetted.
There is a concrete ring and small grass strip with jump for trial.

Dressage sales is Fab!! Vetted, x-rays, vets on site the day of the sale to go through with you the vetting, findings etc... you can ride before the sales normally a couple of days in advance... would highly recommend... like any sale though know what you are going for and what you want and what your price limit is and stick to it!! If you are unsure about a horse... take a knowledgeable person with you!

Yes I bought my coloured cob from there ( pic in signature) last September for £1800 ( including fees but not vetting fees). It was the Leominster general sales I went to that day. Good viewing in the pens and the vendors were generally very helpful in answering questions etc and you could see them walked and trotted up on concrete/tarmac.
Pretty good viewing in the sales ring too plus there is the added bonus of having a vetting done which I did there and then.
If you don't have transport either there is a gentleman who helps out at the auction and will transport your horse(s) for you in a five star box. Really nice guy whom I travelled with on the way back with ours.
As a sales I would wholly recommend it
