I am really not very good at this whole title buisness, anyway I shall move quickly onto the important news! Borde Hill was our first BE run since our somewhat disgraceful performance at Munstead back in March. We had an early start with our dressage being at 9.32, I was up at 5.15am and we were there for 8.00
Off we went to the warm up where it was quite packed (I thought) for the time of day. Gave myself about 30 minutes to get the T monster listening to me and unusally he was lacking a bit of energy. Chased my dressage steward to get a tack check and she wasn't at all helpful, she was miles away from any civilization !! Trotted over to our dressage arena and for once we were given time to go round the arena more than once. Our test was by no means our best but Carrie thought it was resonable. The walk wasn't great and it felt like it lacked energy.
Quick change and off we went to the show jumping warm up, I was shaking at this point as the show jumping is really our worst phase. 3 eliminations in the past 4 events really does speak volumes! Warmed up with the schooling whip as my instructor suggested, giving a quick flick as we were mid-air. Just before we went into the arena I then swapped to the jumping whip (in the hope that he still had it in his head that I had the long schooling whip). Got into the arena as quickly as possible, giving him a couple of taps behind the saddle to remind him that I was in charge and that I meant buisness!! Cantered round the arena and inbetween the double at 6. Downhill to the first fence and we got a big close thus having the first fence down, however this did him good as he picked his feet up for the rest of the round. Flew round the rest leaving them up so was absolutely over the moon to leave the arena with just a pole down... all the blood, sweat and tears finally felt worth it!
Another quick change into cross country gear, as I was about to get back on Penny walked down on her ride, she was extremely proud of us and thought the 1 pole was a fantastic result. Wished her the best of luck and made my way very happily over to the cross country warm up. Popped over both practise fences and didn't have long to wait until we were called down. With my heart pouding I couldn't believe I had made it to the start box (sounds silly I know but I couldn't care less!). Off we went, on our 2nd BE cross country of this year. He made it feel very easy (due to having two runs at PN XC previously, although he had problems in the showjumping), it was a fairly decent intro track aswell, especially the Point 2 oxer at 12. We picked up 4 time faults, the time was riding very tight and not many made the time! On my way round the cross country I heard my dressage score was 37.5
So a slight disaster in the dressage, only a pole in the show jumping and a clear with 4 time faults XC was our day. What an improvement!! We were 14th out of 40, so happy with my boy and looking forward to our PC outing this weekend.
Sorry about the lack of pictures-photographer was slacking (how dare she!
) I haven't had a chance to upload videos either but here is a RAW file of the show jumping. Not the most stylish of rounds but we got round, that's the main thing

Well done to all HHO'ers that had fab results at Borde Hill
Sorry about the brief report, my brain is not in gear due to me being very sick!
