Bring home or leave at stud??

My mare has been inseminated today and will be scanned tomorrow to check for any fluid build up after the AI then all being well and that is clear the stud has said she can come home.
The questions is do i leave her at stud until she has the first scan or do i take her home and then take her back in 12-15 days time for the scan?
I understand that in the first 12- 15 days there is a chance if she gets stressed she could re absorbe then we would have to go through all this again.

OR

Do i just leave her where she is (at stud) until they scan her 'in foal'

Answers on a postcard pls

(The stud is about an hour and 40 mins drive, she is a relativley good traveller)

we left our mare at stud as she was perfectly happy there, depends on how well your mare has settled? If she is happy there personally I would leave her.
 
I am facing the same dilema and i have decided to leave at stud.

the cost of 2 weeks grass livery is cheaper than the cost of another insemination and the hassle for my mare if she were to get stressed and reabsorbe. plus the extra trips/time off work to pick her up and take her back etc
 
Tills was PG'd and went to stud two days later, spent 5 days there while she came into season, was AI'd and then washed out the next day, and then came home to us the day after that. She went back yesterday for her first scan at 19 days and had taken. However, the stud is literally 10/15mins from us and she is a good traveller.
If I was in your position then I'd be looking at how settled she is at stud, if she's really at home then I wouldn't travel her for that length of time, but if you think she'd be moe settled at home then bring her back. Can you not get your vet to do her scan, to save you travelling her back again?
 
I have left my mare at stud and it is only 1 hour away and she is a brill traveller but better safe than sorry. She is on her 3 weeks today so am sat waiting by the phone to see if she has turned. if not then scanned tomorrow or Thurs!!
 
Just leave her. The travelling is not worth it. I'm not sure that stress produces a universal embryonic absorption-reaction, but it's not worth driving her around just for the sake of being able to have her at home.
