You’re very welcome, I hope it’s helpful. Don’t go for dedicated transport, we did with the four we took out and it was amazing but incredibly expensive (basically the funds from my nearly new decent car at the time!). We opted for a shared load on the way back and it was MUCH better and way more affordable . I’d been against shared loads initially as had a nightmare with a horse I imported years ago but that was with a bargain bin transporter.

Parker’s are amazing, they won’t drag your horse all over the place to get him home and the regular stops and overnight stays mean they have a nicer journey than you do! (I said to hubby if we ever moved far away again, I’m booking a partition with Parkers 😄). From memory, mine had one relatively small diversion to collect some polo ponies then they were back on their way home. Plus you get the journey log before he goes too, so you will know his route and overnight stops, I got pics texted of them in their luxury overnight stabling, which helped. All of mine arrived in beautiful condition both on the dedicated transport and the shared loads, travelling with Parkers isn’t like travelling with anyone else, believe me.
I don't think I'll have an option other than to use the dedicated load as if he is classed as unregistered then he can't travel with other horses unless they are unregistered. If I want him home, then I will just have to pay it. I just hope there are no problems with the vet because he has bone spavin, though okay at the moment. I've written to my English MP as it is just ridiculous the number of emails and phone calls I've had to make to get the correct information, and I have finished yet! :)

Sorry but that’s just not true, he CAN travel on a shared load no issue (my mare in classed as unregistered and came home on a shared load). Parker’s will confirm this for you if you need more reassurance. His unregistered status JUST means he needs a coggins test and additional paperwork. Don’t forget that Parkers transport some of the most expensive horses in the world, so he’s not going to be loaded with anything that will “risk his health”, if that’s what you’re worrying about. An English MP isn’t going to be interested or be able to do anything with the Danish system of how things work there. He will be fine with regards to his bone spavin. You’re going through a very stressful time. ❤️

Thanks. Well, Parker's are talking about a dedicated load, so I'll just have to wait and see. My English MP is helping with getting information at the English end because I have had difficulty getting confirmation and have received conflicting information. I'm under a lot of stress so probably worrying unduly. thanks again for talking the time to respond, and I was sorry to hear about your older horse having to be put to sleep.

Perhaps that’s with the timescales you have for getting your boy home? They do frequent runs back and forth to Denmark, so definitely ask them about a shared load, as it was thousands of pounds cheaper to do the shared load. What information are you struggling with from the U.K.? If it’s to do with bringing your horse in, Parker’s deal with it all and know the latest needed.

the only thing you need for the U.K. end is once you get your TOR number, you have to compile a spreadsheet of what you’re bringing home for customs and your horse details goes onto that spreadsheet to, once the Danish Ministry vet has signed the export papers, you scan and email to HMRC to attach to your TOR no that’s all you need to do for the English end, it’s all on the HMRC website.

If the Danish are confusing you, saying you need additional stuff for DEFRA then ignore it, as they genuinely have no knowledge of the U.K. requirements and Parker’s can reassure you on anything they’re telling you need (which will be nonsense.

Edited to add, we found Denmark made up all sorts of nonsense about what the UK needed for import, PLEASE take your lead on what is needed for import from Parkers, that’s where you will get the correct info and they will deal with everything for import, as that’s what they do all the time.

The ONLY thing you need to focus on is the Export, that’s the owners responsibility, so jump through their hoops for Export and don’t worry about the UK side of things. As I said before, the ministry vet was asking for a journey log for inside the UK, as Defra and UK border control needed this, Parker’s said no wasn’t needed, their bloodstock agent said no wasn’t needed, I rang DEFRA to clarify and they said no wasn’t needed, I then spoke to UK Border control and they confirmed it wasn’t needed, I even managed to get through to officials at Dover and they said no, they didn’t need it. I presented all the evidence to the ministry vet and she still said it was needed, in the end, she said if we were that determined then we would have to just deal with the issue at the UK border and we said yes we will (as we all knew there would be no issue) and there obviously was no issue at the UK border, once out of Denmark, it was “plain sailing” all the way.

Oh Goodness. Okay, I will remember that. I am not looking forward to this ministry vet coming. My boy has bone spavin (spat in Danish) and just hope that doesn't stop him travelling. I am tempting to take my older pony too, but she is 24 and I fear age will be an issue over here. I'm struggling with clarification on the blood tests needed. AT the Danish end, they are saying none are needed so I am just waiting for Parker to confirm what is needed. I'm be glad when it's all over.
